Buon Viaggio: Salone del Mobile 2012, Milano

This was the very first time I’ve been in Milan for longer than 24 hours as well as only my second visit.  I had a great, yet exhausting, trip.

I do recognize I saw the city at its many happening.   I will compose a separate publish about Milan. I cannot wait to return.

The Salone (April 17-22) is one of the most essential as well as prominent style exhibitions in the world.

Over 300,000 people go to as well as there are events around the city.   Fiera Milano Rho was the primary display hall. It’s massive.  I was shocked at exactly how organized whatever was.  It’s not simple to put on an event of this scale.

Listed below are a few of my preferred things from the Salone 2012.

The restroom as well as kitchen area exhibitions at RHO:

The Miele as well as Bosch cooking demonstrations.

The Diesel/Scavolini kitchen area collaboration.

SMEG refrigerators with denim covers.

In the Center:

MERCI pop-up store – found in a courtyard off through Tortona, the Parisian idea store was packed.

Idarica Gazzoni – This Italian textile designer is one of my preferred artists.  I like her utilize of color.

Paola C. – The studio spotlights young worldwide artists working in glass, ceramics, as well as metals. The Foxy pitcher won the Wallpaper style award in 2011.

Dimore studio – This interior, furniture as well as illumination style firm had one of the most gorgeous areas of the Salone.  No pictures were allowed.  I saw some people sneaking shots anyway, which I believed was type of rude.

Dedar – The firm where I interned utilized Dedar’s materials frequently.  having the chance to go to the showroom was a highlight of my trip.  Their Hermès partnership is everything.
