There are lots of awesome methods to light stairs these days, however one of the most stylish services I’ve seen was the illuminated handrail at Loxone’s show home in Austria.
We all understand that imitation is the sincerest type of flattery, so we set about emulating the style in the new Automated Home.
Stainless Steel Handrail
We discovered a regional engineering company that might do the customized metal work as well as provided them the dimensions for our handrail together with some comprehensive pictures I’d taken from the Loxone house.
I was especially keen to replicate two essential details from the show home. The very first was to make sure that the channel for the LED tape was constant as well as uninterrupted by the brackets that hold it to the wall. The second was to produce a path inside one of the wall fixings to hide the cable television entry for the cleanest look.
The U-shaped stainless steel box section steps 40mm x 40mm with a channel of approx 25mm x 25mm inside. when it was delivered, epitome Living got to work attaching the 18mm aluminium profile with high stamina adhesive inside the channel.
As with the other places in the home we utilized warm white (3000-3500K) RGBW 24v tape which has 60 LEDs per meter. It was then soldered up as well as stuck onto the profile, before lastly fitting the diffuser strip.
LED Handrail
The black 5 x 1mm core LED cable television runs back to our cupboard where it links to one of the Loxone RGBW Tree 24V dimmers for control.
